Join in and help create a new artwork celebrating the wildlife of the pond on Shenley Road! 🦎🦆
Artists Ben and Phil from Juneau Projects are excited to introduce their new project, Portrait of a Pond.

This community art project will be inspired by the unique ecology of the pond located at the corner of Shenley Road and Burchard Crescent.

We invite anyone who’s interested to join us in co-creating this artwork—no experience required! Whether or not you consider yourself creative, your ideas and contributions will help shape the final piece. We're holding our first workshop on Friday 28th February, 1.00pm -3.00pm at the Shenley Church End Parish Council offices, 19a Shenley Rd, Shenley Church End, MK5 6AB

Drop into a free creative workshop and make a newt sculpture from wooden shapes, meet the artists Ben & Phil from Juneau Projects and chat about the plans for the nature-themed artwork and how you can be involved in making it!

Our goal is to craft a community-designed piece that celebrates the pond’s rich wildlife. The artwork could be practical, like a hibernaculum (a shelter for hibernating amphibians), or educational, showcasing the life cycles of the pond’s various species.

In addition to the workshops, there will be activities such as pond dipping and opportunities to learn from wildlife experts.

The project is commissioned by Culture Milton Keynes, in collaboration with Shenley Church End Parish Council.

Workshops will be announced on the project web page(Link opens in new window):
