Policies & Procedures
As a responsible body, the Parish Council takes governance very seriously and has defined policies covering aspects of the Council's work and the way that it engages with the community.
The parish councils we have today were created in law after the 1972 Local Government Act. This Act sets out how all parish councils operate, but councils can also establish their own procedures and policies for specific situations.
By sharing these on their website, the council makes it easy for the public to understand how they handle things like complaints and taking care of the land they oversee. The council regularly reviews its policies to make sure they still make sense and follow the law.
