Previous Charities

Every year the Parish Council selects a different charity to support via hall hire and events the Council run, these are the charities we have supported in previous years.

2021/22 Charity of the Year

Young Carers MK works with and supports children and young people aged 8-19 years old who care for a family member because of a physical or mental illness, disability or drug or alcohol related problems

The cared for person may be a parent or sibling, or another relative living in the same household. The child or young person does not necessarily have to be providing ‘hands on’ care to be recognised as a young carer. Even if there are services in place and other members of the family helping with the care, the emotional impact and restrictions due to illness or disability can still have an enormous effect on the young carer.

Baby Basics logo
Baby Basics MK is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to supporting families who are in greatest need in Milton Keynes. Baby Basics is sponsored by King’s Church MK, who originally gave birth to it before it became a charity in its own right.

They rely on donations of second-hand, but good condition, baby essentials. These are lovingly made into gift packages that give families everything they will need to get started with a new baby, and continue to support them where needed.

Families may be referred to them by health professionals, such as health visitor and midwifes, and local churches.

Milton Keynes Hospital Charity logo
Milton Keynes Hospital Charity raises money for all wards and departments at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Their fund raising helps to improve patient experience and ensure that their stay at the hospital is as comfortable and positive as possible.

Their fund raising goes over and above what the NHS provides – funding specific, tangible items such as:

State of the art equipment
